Description
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Freelance Community Health Nurse to support outreach health programs across selected communities in Kenya. The role involves working on a flexible, project-based basis to provide essential nursing services during community medical camps, health education drives, patient follow-ups, and home-based care visits.
The ideal candidate should be confident in delivering primary healthcare services, supporting disease prevention initiatives, and educating individuals and families on healthier living practices. You will work with a mobile health team, local partners, and community leaders to improve access to quality healthcare services.
Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, conducting basic assessments, administering prescribed medications and injections where appropriate, offering maternal and child health support, supporting immunization or screening programs, documenting patient information accurately, and referring complex cases to higher-level facilities when necessary.
This is a flexible freelance opportunity suited for nurses who are self-driven, dependable, and able to work independently in community settings. Applicants should be comfortable traveling within assigned regions in Kenya and engaging respectfully with diverse populations.

Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
Valid Nursing Council of Kenya license and current practice certificate
At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community health, outpatient care, or primary healthcare
Strong communication and patient education skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Experience in health camps, outreach services, maternal-child health, or home-based care is an added advantage
Good record-keeping and report-writing skills
Willingness to travel to different locations within Kenya
Compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive approach to patient care
Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry
Valid Nursing Council of Kenya license and current practice certificate
At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community health, outpatient care, or primary healthcare
Strong communication and patient education skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Experience in health camps, outreach services, maternal-child health, or home-based care is an added advantage
